Nina Kampler has 30 years of industry experience as a retailer, lawyer, broker, restructuring advisor and business development expert. She formed Kampler Advisory Group in 2012 to provide opportunistic value-add advisory services to the retail real estate industry.
From 2010 through 2012, Nina was Senior Managing Director of CBRE’s Retail Services Group, managing the New York Tri-State retail brokerage platform and heading the Urban Retail Group for the Americas, integrating the high-street retail practice across the US, Canada and Latin America.
Prior to CBRE, Nina served as Executive Vice President for Hilco Real Estate from 2004 to 2010. She directed their strategic retail and corporate solutions group and led retail business development, focusing on the repositioning of the luxury brand segmentation. Nina collaborated with major national and international retailers and commercial companies to implement real estate portfolio restructuring strategies, and includes Starbucks, GEOX, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art amongst her clients. Nina currently is a strategic partner of the Hilco Real Estate team.
Nina spent 16 years at Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation, from 1988 through 2004, serving as their Vice President, Retail and Real Estate Counsel. In that capacity, she served as chief advisor on all legal retail matters and coordinated all store and corporate real estate transactions throughout the U.S. and Canada. She also held the position of acting General Counsel for Club Monaco. In her early career, Nina practiced law at Coudert Brothers and Richards & O’Neil, both in New York.
She is currently an active member of several organizations, including the ICSC where she serves on the ICSC Law Conference Committee, and the Shopping Center Business New York Retail Roundtable. Nina served on the Advisory Board of the Georgetown University School of Law Advanced Commercial Leasing Institute, as well as the Board of Governors (founding member) of the National Retail Tenants Association for many years. She has also served as Associate Dean of the School of Retailing of the University of Shopping Centers, She is a frequent panelist, lecturer and guest columnist for ICSC, Bar Association and retail and restaurant industry conferences and publications.
Nina is a member of the New York Bar Association and a licensed real estate broker in New York State. She is a graduate of New York University School of Law and the University of Pennsylvania, where she received both a B.A., summa cum laude, and an M.A. in International Politics.
